Role Overview

We require a first class candidate who can show leadership and provide guidance to production personal. Self-motivated and driven to succeed. Provide first class general engineering support centered on Production Engineering, new product introduction, technology acquisition, process improvements and design and analysis support, customer interaction, tooling and product design.

Main Duties:

  • To push process knowledge forward via focussed studies and a data driven/analysis approach.
  • To extend the company’s abilities with difficult materials (such as composites).
  • To provide technical support on New Product Introduction. To provide technical support for machine and process development projects
  • To perform engineering analysis as required.
    • Prepares subcontract request for quotation packets and obtains subcontract costs in support of cost estimates and manage sub-contractor when order placed
    • Contribution to quality improvement activities, process improvement
    • To participate development projects.
    • To work closely with customers to develop commercial solutions to the benefit of the customer and company.
      • Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement activities on existing product lines.
      • To lead project teams as required.
        • Prepares reports and summaries on technical support activities
        • Prepares technical presentations where needed in support of cost estimates, new product inquiries, and requests for quotation

Experience required:

  • Mechanical, manufacturing or aerospace related degree at 2:1 grade or above. Preferable BEng or MEng.
  • Direct experience / knowledge of a variety of engineering processes gained in industry over a minimum of a one year term.
  • Experience of engineering processes and or fabrication and tight tolerance machining background.
  • Experience managing multiple manufacturing projects
  • Awareness of composites, metallurgy and NDT techniques
  • Knowledge of aviation specifications and documents

The Quality Inspector should have the following experience:

  • Extensive experience as a Quality Inspector
  • Previously inspected/worked with composite materials and components
  • Ideally worked within the Aerospace before
  • Demonstrates Engineering knowledge and experience. Ideally holds an engineering university degree and/or engineering working experience

Main responsibilities:

  • Quality inspection of composite materials and components
  • First and final article inspection reports (FARS)
  • Involved in several projects for customers within the Aerospace.
